Kombucha


Materials

  • 5 gallon bucket
  • cloth that fits over 5 gallon bucket
  • elastic band that fits around bucket

Ingredients

  • 5 cups sugar
  • 40 grams black or green tea
  • 1 can combucha original
  • 150 degree boil
  • 2.2 oz per 12 oz
  • Scobby

Instructions

  1. Heat 5 gallons of water to 150 degrees
  2. Add 40 grams of tea and let it steep for 20-30 minutes
  3. Remove tea and add 5 cups of sugar
  4. Bring water temperature down to 70 degrees
  5. Add liquid to bucket
  6. Add scobby
  7. Secure cloth on top of bucket
  8. Let combucha sit for 1-4 weeks
  9. Add juice and mix
  10. Add to sealable bottles or jars
  11. Let bottles sit for 1-2 weeks and consume
